It all started when my husband wanted to get
some live rock for his 75 gallon fish tank. We went to the store
in Columbia, SC. That is where I found George. George was a male
horn shark. We bought a 120 gallon tank just for him. George had
the best personality. He would eat out of your hands, let you pet
him, and rub noses with me through the glass. As George grew, we
knew we had to get a bigger tank. We had this tank custom built
just to George's specifications. The fish store acted like they
knew what they were doing, and we did not know any better. Once
the tank was up and running, we wanted to get him some tank mates.
After waiting 6 months, I finally started looking for myself.
That is how we met seaquariums. John
got us two female horn sharks and two sting rays. It was a wonderful
tank. George had picked his mate and I believe to this day we would
have had eggs. But our filtration was not enough for the size of
our tank and when it crashed it took George and our two sting rays
lives. These were not just fish they were our companions. John Beach
traveled down to South Carolina to fixed our mess. We now have replaced
George with Max and gotten two more sting rays. It will never be
the same. Our Plumbing, filters, protein skimmers, and UV light all
had to be replaced. They were not designed for a shark tank of this
size. So three days of blood and sweat from Seaquariums and our
tank was fixed. Do your homework, do not let anyone set up your
tank without references and pictures. Not only did we lose our sea
friends but the old tank over flowed and ruined our hardwood floor,
and we were extremely overcharged by the original company. Just
because a store can sell fish does not mean that they can set up
a custom tank. We will never do buisiness with anyone but seaquariums.
They did a wonderful job fixing our tank. They are the best around,
and thank goodness they are willing to travel.
Sincerly,
John and Terrianne Basch
For many years, my husband has taken me
(kicking and screaming) into pet store after pet store to look at
the tropical fish. He had dabbled in fish a couple of times with
not-so-great results. Every time we would go into one of these pet
stores I would say 'Just buy a tank if you want one so bad' but
he knew that saltwater fish had to be done RIGHT. We would go into
these chain-type fish stores looking for answers, but all we ever
left with were more questions. Then one day I was driving to the
local mall and I saw a billboard with the info for Seaquariums on
it. My first thought was that there was no way we had a local shop
that specialized in salt water! I told my husband about it and he
was thrilled! I called the next day and began asking questions.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that
John Beach was very knowledgeable about setting up salt-water aquariums.
I must have asked him 50 questions in that phone conversation and
he patiently answered each one of them. I will never forget the
moment he told me that they made CUSTOM aquariums and stands! (You
mean I don't have to go with a rectangle tank on a matte-black stand????)
I gave John some ideas on how large we would like the tank and he
said he would put together a price-quote for us. The next day I
received a call from John on a quote for our fish tank. He explained
exactly what type of lighting and filtration the tank would have,
approximately how long it would take for the tank and stand to be
made and many other details. We couldn't wait to get started!!!
Now here we are, one year later, with the
most beautiful and unique saltwater aquarium. It is approximately
135 gallons, flat-back, hex-front with fish, live rock and corals.
It is GORGEOUS! Our family and friends are amazed with the tank.
It is a topic of conversation any time someone visits our home.
Our children love it, too! There are evenings when the television
doesn't even get turned on because we are enjoying the fish tank
instead!
Honestly, we couldn't have done it without
John and Regina Beach. They didn't just help us design and install
our tank. They have been there to answer questions, offer advice,
help with problems and more. The service we have received since
buying the tank has been more valuable to us than anything.
Thank you, Seaquariums!
